Software Pricing Overview

Palladium can be acquired, either as a Periodic (outright) software purchase option or as a software subscription option that is completely contract free with no deposits. For customers who choose the Monthly Subscription Option, if you are not happy with our product or service you can cancel the agreement by giving us a 1 calendar month written notice, no questions asked. The Periodic Purchase Option has a Maintenance plan that is mandatory for the first year only and is optional thereafter. It is, however, highly recommended that clients renew their Maintenance plan in order to receive new product features and various updates and security releases that are only available to clients on current contracts. The Subscription Option is sold on a straight month-to-month or annual contract-free basis. You can also convert from a Subscription to a Purchase option with a full credit of all subscription fees against the Purchase price if converted within the first 3 months of purchase. Note that all subscription sales are subject to an annual re-registration.

Subscription and Maintenance Renewals

The anniversary / renewal dates of all our software sale options are based from date of sale and not from date of first registration or from go-live. Note that prospective users can run the software in a Demonstration mode for testing and training purposes without the need to Purchase. In order to cancel any contracts we require a signed letter of confirmation from the relevant official from the registered company on our standard cancelation letter.

Administration of Upgrades

Upgrades Across Product Ranges

In order to upgrade across product ranges (i.e. Business to Enterprise) you are required to be on the latest version of your current product. The upgrade price is calculated as the difference in the new Retail Prices + 15% premium. (This premium does not apply to clients on maintenance contracts).

Upgrades Across Years

Palladium adopts an agile product release methodology with multiple incremental feature releases per year. Clients who are currently on a Software Maintenance Plan or who are on a Software Subscription Plan, will automatically receive all new version releases free of charge and will be notified by newsletter. Clients who are not on a maintenance plan wishing to upgrade, will pay 25% of the new product price per year of upgrade from the current release. I.e. if the prevailing version is 2020, a client upgrading from the 2018 version will pay 50% (25% x 2) of the prevailing Retail Price.

Additional User Licenses

Additional user licenses are only available to clients on the current (latest) or the previous version of the software with a current support contract or subscription license.

The Palladium Accounting products are priced on break-levels that get cheaper based on the number of users purchased.

Software Purchase Option

All ZAR prices quoted exclude VAT. Please note that the software support plan is mandatory in the first year of purchase only.

Choose the pricing tier that represents the total number of Palladium licenses you want or will have.

ZAR example, if you are a new client buying 8 Palladium Enterprise licenses you automatically fall into tier 2 and pay only R7 139.00 ex VAT per user for software. If you are an existing client with 7 licenses and you are buying an additional 5 licenses you automatically fall into tier 3 and pay only R6 614.00 ex VAT per additional user.

USD example, if you are a new client buying 8 Palladium Enterprise licenses you automatically fall into tier 2 and pay only $421.00 per user. If you are an existing client with 7 licenses and you are buying an additional 5 licenses you automatically fall into tier 3 and pay only $390.00 per additional user.

Example using the Zimbabwe pricelist, if you are a new client buying 8 Palladium Enterprise licenses you automatically fall into tier 2 and pay only $254.00 per user. If you are an existing client with 7 licenses and you are buying an additional 5 licenses you automatically fall into tier 3 and pay only $236.00 per additional user.

Software Subscription Option

All ZAR prices quoted exclude VAT. The software subscription option includes a full maintenance plan.

South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho & Eswatini – Please select either the Annual or Monthly Software Subscription model. Note that all Subscription plans come inclusive of a full Software Support & Maintenance plan.

Zimbabwe & Other Countries – Please select either the Annual or Quarterly Software Subscription model. Note that all Subscription plans come inclusive of a full Software Support & Maintenance plan.

If you are an existing client on an annual subscription with 7 licenses and you are buying an additional 5 licenses you automatically fall into tier 3 and pay only $222.00 per additional user per year.

Example using the Zimbabwe pricelist, if you are a new client buying 8 Palladium Enterprise licenses on an annual subscription you automatically fall into tier 2 and pay only $145.00 per user per year. If you are an existing client on an annual subscription with 7 licenses and you are buying an additional 5 licenses you automatically fall into tier 3 and pay only $135.00 per additional user per year.

Palladium Payroll (South Africa Only)

All ZAR prices quoted exclude VAT.

Palladium Payroll is an affordable solution that does not charge per payslip. With Palladium Payroll you pay a monthly or annual subscription fee based on your number of employees.

For example, if you have 55 employees you pay R550.00 ex VAT per month regardless of how many payslips you print. You can also choose to pay annually instead of monthly, in this case, if you have 50 employees you only pay R11 000.00 ex VAT per year.

Data Hosting

Palladium offers a Data Hosting Service with one of South Africa’s premier Internet Service Providers (ISP’s), alleviating the need for clients to purchase Servers or MS SQL Server products, greatly reducing the cost of the total solution. Whilst every endeavour is made to ensure optimal uptime and redundancy, we cannot guarantee the service as offered by our 3^rd-party service providers. Please also ensure that you have a reliable Internet connection before subscribing to this service. Please note that our data hosting service is only available to clients on a current support plan.

Zimbabwe & Other Countries – Our Data Hosting solution is based on a per-user per-quarter basis and includes your data hosting charges, Microsoft SQL Licensing as well as Daily backups. Clients on our Data Hosting Service are not required to purchase Microsoft SQL Server licenses.

Cloud Backup

Our Cloud Backup solution uses Acronis to incrementally backup your Palladium Database every three hours.

Microsoft SQL Server

Palladium ships with the MS SQL Express edition free of charge, and is recommended for systems not exceeding 10 users. MS SQL Express is limited to a 1Gb RAM usage as well as a 10GB database size restriction. It is recommended that the Standard SQL Edition be purchased where a high volume of transactions is expected.

Microsoft SQL Server can only be sold in conjunction with the Palladium product ranges and cannot be purchased for use on its own or with other applications.

SMS Credits

SMS credits are sold in bundles and do not expire.

Palladium SDK/API

The cost of the Palladium API is R5 000.00 ex VAT or $345.00 annually for third-party integrations. The Palladium API is included for free when integrating with other Palladium products. Note that the API will only be supported for the current version and one version back.

Competitor Upgrade Pricing for NGO’s

We offer a 10% competitive upgrade discount to all NGO’s converting from other accounting packages. This discount applies to both Software Purchases and Software subscription options. For clients converting from other Accounting Software packages, the discount will be based on the same number of concurrent users, and proof of previous ownership is required. Note that no discounts will be available on the MS SQL Database, SMS and support costs. This discount does not apply to Maintenance contracts.

Please note that competitor discounts do not apply to the Palladium Accounting Zimbabwe pricing.

All software purchases are payable in advance, and all monthly subscription fees are subject to the signing of a debit order form.
